about

On the first full-length release of M-Band, he offers us eight beautiful compositions, with his own specific style of blending electronic and acoustic instruments together and layering his extra-ordinary countertenor singing.

The album starts with a "Launch", where a melancholic piano piece integrates with field recordings & electronic hiss - with the latter things magnifying up to a point of otherworldly bliss. It morphs into the second track "Ever Ending Never", which introduces a 4x4 kick drum and a wobbly bassline. The magnificent voice of M-Band is introduced half-way into the track and the song starts taking you into dimensions unheard of. "All Is Love" sends cosmic waves of love throughout the universe. With a sublime mixture of tender vocals, synth-orgy and garage/dubstep style drumbeats, he creates something so extremely sincere and beautiful. "Fractions" is a mixture of neurotic basslines and atmospheric vocals. It escalates until nothing remains, except a subtle organ and vocal reverb. "When The Night Falls" starts with an unorthodox percussion with haunting chords - which is soon to be followed by M-Band signature tender vocals. The "Psalms of the Mushroom War" starts with acappella by M-Band, where he manipulates his voice in a creative matter. Little by little, percussions are introduced and thereafter guitar and other elements. It's a chaotic journey into the apocalyptic vision of M-Band. The title track of the album, "Haust" - meaning Autumn in the Icelandic language, starts with a gentle vocal and escalates slowly until the peak is reached when epic church organ drops in - forcing the biggest atheists to yell hallelujah! The final track of the album, "Coda", is the calmness after the storm. With its quirky noises, reverberated piano and amplified guitar gently hovering - it is the perfect ending.

What others say:

"What a winner" - Rokmusik.co

"... a striking piece of work"- Crack Magazine
"Sitting somewhere between SOHN and Douglas Dare, this is cleverly constructed and hugely emotive music" - Amazing Radio
"A hypnotic sound, gleaned from various corners of contemporary electronica, with songs built from minimal clicking rhythms, washes and whispers of ambient sound, haunting melodies, swells and crescendos" - Ja Ja Ja Music
